I'm one of the first to moan about the price of tackle, and what you get for your money. However I just received my new Shimano 5500 in the post yesterday. To my delight I found it came with a spare spool, and 3 different spacers, for no extra money!! I'm unsure about the big handle right now, but will comment after using it, maybe it just works? Anyway a nice reel with all the extras included. Richard.

I felt the same when I got mine,Rich. My main feeder reels were the double handle baby bait runners. The 5500 is a brilliant reel(for the price) on long Chuck big fish waters. After your first trip out the "big" handle won't be an issue, believe me.
Thanks Alan, nice to get some feedback on that. It's a bit of a squeeze in my rod bag with the reel attached as it makes a big reel. But I'm yet to try it out, with the two spools, it allows me to have a Trent reel, with 8lb line and a feeder distance reel with braid and shock leader. Rich.
