Check out the new Sonubaits Pro Expanders. Just had some this week. No pumping required, they sink straight out of the bag. Simply soak for 30 minutes the night before, drain off, into a bag, expel excess air, into the fridge. (You can also let them soak all night if you prefer). Next morning, perfect hookers. Not sure what they've done to make them sink dry, but they've patented the process and the end result is perfect. Definitely worth a look.

Looking forward to trying but how do you patent a sinking expander pellet? Do you know if its still pending or they've actually got it?

Don't know how it works Rick, but that's what I was told.

just tried some Spotted Fin 4mms in midweek silvers and have to say seemed more uniform than my usual bait tech - also different colour, grey shade standing out from the bait tech amber brown, as well.

I was just coming on here to post similar. :)

Since my post above I've tried some of the new Sonubaits no pump pellets and they keep their shape well and are quite squeeze resistant.

Also, I got hole of some of the Spotted Fin 4mm and just left them soaking in water overnight and they are just as good as the Sonubaits but they float until you put a hook in them which I can see being a benefit if you need to lift and drop a lot to get bites. The Sonubaits will be good for nailing to the deck I suspect.

All in all I now have some expanders I can fish with and about 5 pints of ground expanders. :)

Used the Sonubait expanders yesterday and caught bugger all on them but nothing new there! But they were the best I've used shape and sqeezy wise for the full session.

Neil..The new VDE RS Elites are rubbish.. Sent a case back lately. The 6mm wont stay on the hook.
Very disappointed as I have used them for years..Bought some Skettrings and they were ok..
Im sure they are using cheaper ingredients to maximise profits.

Rob. I have found that the Sonubaits expanders like a squirt of VDE Brasem liquid..I put it in the water in the pump.
They do hold their shape and stay on the hook very well.

Less and less fishmeal in them is the problem Jim.

I have been oiling my expanders recently (mainline match pellet enhancer oil)as I used to throw any unused away after a match.Straight after pumping them I put the different sizes in small screw lid pots and just cover them in the oil.Have had some in the fridge for 3 weeks now and are still the same as to when I first pumped them.

Jim the new pro one's are very robust and don't need pumping... so would only use an additive for flavour. Will give you some to try next time we meet .
